NCS Has Talent dinner & auction raises $22,104, adding to $32,008+ already raised. But wait, there's more ...
On May 13 Nanaimo Christian School came together for our first major in-person event in two years! At the sold-out event more than 300 NCS students, parents, grandparents, staff and friends enjoyed an evening of fundraising and celebrating the God-given talents of our students.
We hoped to reach our fundraising goal of $50,000 for stage equipment and a new 15-passenger van. This week we updated our progress banner, adding $22,104 to the $32,008 already raised for the extracurricular fund since November! We did it! Wow! We surpassed our $50,000 goal by more than $4,000!
But wait, there’s more … thanks to two more major gifts received recently … one for $50,000 from Oceanside Church and one for $25,000 from Dansons … the grand total is now $129,112!
Students will have a more reliable and accessible transportation for extra-curricular trips and new stage equipment thanks to you! God is so good.
THANK YOU for your amazing donations of time, energy, gathering items, buying items, making cash donations, and bringing your family and friends to the NCS Has Talent dinner & auction.
Our three principals were judges for the NCS Has Talent show, where student finalists entertained with their dance, music and artistic skills. NCS alumnae Anna Boland returned as a guest performer and sang her new single "Holy Melody" and moved most of the room to tears with the talent and beauty of her voice.
The NCS Has Talent competition's Top 3 finalists were:
1st -- Gloria Olson (gr. 11), singing
2nd -- Gabby Gillespie, Olivia Nudd, Hannah Kirkbride (gr. 6, 7, 7), lyrical jazz dance
3rd -- James Vickers (gr. 7), guitar
Thank you so much to everyone who donated and volunteered since the campaign started last November. Thank you to our event sponsors: Little George’s South, who provided a portion of the dinner on the night of the event. Amazing parent volunteers headed up the kitchen team (Aimee Rounding), decorating team (Ashton Deibert), stage crew (Sue Olson parent & Karen Richardson staff) and the childcare team (Natasha Munro). Thank you to the NCS principals as well as Josh Patience and Alex Toews for helping with the talent show. Thank you to Josh Richardson, film director at CMYK Productions in Vancouver, for donating his time and talent to edit and produce the student and staff talent reels. We're so grateful for your hard work and heart for our school.
What a joy to see our community coming together to support our kids! Thank you!
