This March marked the last season of Mr. Sijpheer as an NCS coach
After several years of being an integral part of creating the basketball program that is now thriving at Nanaimo Christian School, we sadly saw James Sijpheer coach his final NCS basketball game at the BC Senior Boys basketball provincial championships a few weeks ago.
James has been a strong supporter and leader of our basketball program with being one of the main driving forces behind building the program from nothing to one of the top A schools on the island. We could never thank him enough for all his time, effort and expertise over the years. His dedication to the athletes in helping them realize their full potential and pushing them to be the best they can be is something that will not easily be replaced.
Ending with a 3-1 record to take the consolation title at provincials (the best finish for any NCS basketball team at provincials thus far) this year is a strong way to end the season and his time with the NCS basketball program. He leaves a strong legacy that will be remembered for many years to come and has set a standard for all those who follow! Thank you James - Go Blazers!
