NCS students and staff pause to honour veterans and those still serving
This week during Remembrance Day assemblies at Nanaimo Christian School we've been reflecting, remembering and honouring those who served and continue to serve for our freedom.
In chapel, elementary students heard Mr. Pinder (NCS dad, staff member and veteran) speak about his time in the Canadian Armed Forces. Students had the opportunity to hold his dog tags, hear stories, and listen to The Last Post as they observed a minute of silence.
Middle and high school students also had a special Remembrance Day chapel where they were shown images of their fellow students' family members that are either veterans or currently serving. A 78-year-old guest speaker and veteran from the local Legion challenged them with tips on how to be a better Canadian.
