Watch the principal's weekly video to hear about Tristan's highs, lows and the Bible verse that has encouraged him during his journey with leukemia.
In his weekly video for students, Mr. Sijpheer sits down with NCS Grade 5 student Tristan Edmunds, who was diagnosed with leukemia 3.5 years ago. Tristan talks about the hardest part, a funny moment, sharing his faith with a nurse, and going head-to-head in air hockey against Henrik Sedin, a former Vancouver Canucks player.
Challenge to our NCS community: Pray for Tristan this Thursday, February 11. It's his last scheduled chemotherapy treatment at BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver. Please pray that it is his last treatment ever. Thank God that He has walked this road with Tristan and brought healing.
Here's the Bible verse Tristan learned in Grade 1 or 2 that he would repeat over and over in his mind during difficult parts of his cancer journey:
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." -- Philippians 4:6-7
