Spring season athletes -- in soccer, track and field, golf and badminton -- excel both on and off the field.
Girls' Soccer Makes Mark in Inaugural Season
In a historic first Nanaimo Christian School fielded an all-girls soccer team this spring. The team recently concluded the season with an impressive performance at the Island championships. Despite finishing with a 2-2 record and clinching 5th place, the team narrowly missed out on a spot at Provincials. Many players were newcomers to organized soccer yet showcased remarkable improvement throughout the season. The team conceded just one goal in its two wins at Islands.
Badminton Team Shines at North Island Championships
The NCS badminton team had a strong season and competed in the North Island championships. The team didn't secure a spot in the Islands, but the dedication and enthusiasm of 20+ athletes playing each week throughout the season was commendable. A special thank you goes out to Mr. Johnson and Mr. Brassens for their invaluable coaching.
Track and Field Team Headed to Island Championships
Track and field saw 17 athletes participating in the North Islands competition. Several athletes are poised to advance to the Island championships on May 21-22 in Port Alberni.
Golf Team Clinches BC Christian Schools Championship
The NCS golf team won the first-ever BC Christian Schools Championship held at Pheasant Glen Golf Course in Qualicum. The team's sights are now set on the Islands championship May 22. NCS is the host school for the upcoming Provincials at Fairwinds Golf Course from June 3-5.
Congratulations to NCS student athletes for a successful spring season! Thank you to the dedicated coaches and supportive parents who make it possible!
