Thanks to your generous donations of $62,463 last year, the property will be ready for outdoor learning and play this year.
Thanks to your generous donations of $62,463 in 2022-23, the first phases of development are launching on Nanaimo Christian School's expansion land with the goal of creating usable space for outdoor learning and play during the 2023-24 school year.
Here's what's been happening:
Newcastle Engineering completed a site plan that maps out the property line, elevation gradients, landscape features, setbacks, and more.
The NCS Campus Plan Task Force met with City of Nanaimo planners to begin discussing traffic flow and parking.
Strategic Natural Resource Consultants sent an urban forester to the property for a hazardous tree assessment (pink ribbon = hazardous tree; candy stripe ribbon = rare/landmark tree).
The NCS facilities manager installed a new gate on the Holland Road access to the property adjacent from the main school parking lot.
In the coming weeks you'll see:
Hazardous tree removal
Clearing of brush and hazardous debris
Other site prep to make the land safe for students
Would you like to be part of what God is doing on this land?
Please pray that God continues to lead with a clear vision for His purposes. Pray a blessing over the land and the impact it will have on students for generations to come.
Let us know if your company would like to partner with NCS throughout the land development phases. Here are some more immediate areas of need: tree removal, timber cruising, and field preparation. Email jamie.moore@ncsnanaimo.com or call 250-754-4512.
Did you know ...
The expansion land was an answer to six years of prayer.
Being able to use this expansion land – in the long term – allows us to add on to existing buildings and create more classroom spaces as the school continues to grow!
