Two new cottages create a space for parents to connect for coffee, prayer, support groups and more.
This month two new parent community cottages opened on campus between Building A (Grade K-2 building) and Holland Road. One cottage is the office space for the school's new Parent Community Coordinator, Karen Richardson. The other cottage -- a cozy space with a couch, chairs, coffee maker and tea kettle -- is a hub for our parent community at Nanaimo Christian School.
After two long years of pandemic restrictions and social distancing finally easing, we are excited to bring our parents together again. The cottages are a great place for them to drop in for coffee after the morning drop off or to gather for a support group or prayer group. Already we are seeing wonderful new connections being made among parents.
Here are our groups now meeting in the cottages:
Drop-in coffee group -- Fridays after a.m. drop off
Prayer groups -- Thursdays after a.m. drop off & before p.m. pick up
Parents of children with special needs support group -- Mondays before p.m. pick up
Hiking group (meet at trail TBD) -- Wednesdays after a.m. drop off
