Michelle and her coaches reflect on her athletic career at NCS.
“I really enjoyed playing sports at NCS. On our soccer team there was so much support for each other. It really drove me and all of us to work as hard as we possibly could so we could be the best we could be.” — Michelle, grade 12
Congratulations to Michelle and all of our 2020 grade 12 athletes at Nanaimo Christian School! What a joy it has been to celebrate your unique gifts and watch you grow into the person God has called you to be.
“Michelle came to her first practice eager to play and eager to learn. She had some great skill and was fearless but at the same time it seemed she did not know how talented she was. I have loved working with Michelle! She was quick to pick up on my defensive strategy and always did her best to improve every time she stepped on the field. We had a ref come to her after the finals her first year and complement her on her great skills. Michelle always wanted to learn more and asked what more she could do to improve. Michelle, I hope that you take what you have learned over the years and continue to play. I know with your determination, your fearless attitude and your humble ways you will go far in life. I look forward to seeing you on the soccer field and hearing more about your rowing adventures. Take on the world like you do an attacking forward and you will be just fine!” — Christiane Kamerman (NCS Soccer Coach)
“It was a pleasure to have Michelle be a part of the track and field team for two years in high school. Michelle is a very capable athlete and was competitive in her events. Michelle placed in the top 3 at the Island Championship in high jump both years, which earned her the right to represent NCS at BC High School’s. Michelle was a great team player and always had a great attitude.” — Sue DeSchiffart (NCS Track & Field Coach)
Michelle is also the recipient of the Vancouver Island University President’s Entrance Scholarship! Well done, Michelle!
