If your child is 6-8 years old, sign up for an RESP to receive the grant.
Did you know that if your child is between the ages of 6-8 (offer expires on their 9th birthday), you can receive $1200 to kick-start their post-secondary savings? It is called the British Columbia Training & Education Savings Grant which is a free $1200 for their Registered Education Savings Plan (RESP). All you need to do is sign up for an RESP with your bank and they will help you with the rest! In just 15 minutes, you can get started from home.
Things you will need to apply:
Social Insurance Number and primary ID for yourself
Your child’s Social Insurance number and birthdate
